Job summary

Qualifications

• One year of general work experience demonstrating ability to take charge, make sound decisions, and maintain composure in stressful situations.
• A bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Combination of general work experience and completed college education as described in your application materials.

Responsibilities

• Detect and question people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws, inspecting documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations.
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders by maintaining surveillance and using various tactics.
• Patrol the international boundary and coastal waterways using vehicles, vessels, and other assets to fulfill USBP missions.
• Contribute to border security by deterring illicit activity and upholding law enforcement standards.
