Qualifications

• Citizenship: You must be a U.S. citizen to apply.
• Residency: Primary U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years.
• Age: Refer to DHS guidance; typical age limitations apply.
• Training: Six months at the Border Patrol Academy.
• Language: Ability to speak/read Spanish and English.

Responsibilities

• Protect borders and deter illicit activity as a BPA.
• Patrol the international boundary and coastal waterways using various assets.
• Detect and question individuals suspected of immigration or customs violations.
• Enforce laws and perform security checks in assigned duty locations.
