Job summary

MSD in Gaithersburg, MD seeks a Project Engineer to support development of new automated systems for consumables manufacturing. You will perform project engineering activities, release designs into design control, and collaborate with senior engineers.

Responsibilities include purchasing and vendor management for COTS and machined parts, evaluating designs for cost-saving opportunities, sourcing components, and ensuring projects stay on the critical path while complying with safety policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering; higher experience may substitute for degree.
• Experience in mechanical/electrical design or project engineering roles preferred.
• Prototype or low-volume electro-mechanical systems experience preferred.
• Design review of electro-mechanical systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Release electromechanical designs into design control.
• Manage purchasing and vendor activities for COTS and machined parts.
• Critically analyze part designs for purchase/cost-saving opportunities.
• Source electronic and mechanical components based on performance specs.
• Keep 1-2 concurrent projects on the critical path.
• Follow laboratory safety policies.
