Job summary

The role requires a mechanical or electrical engineering degree and experience in electro-mechanical design; you will source components, manage vendors, and help keep critical-path projects on track in a production environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering; additional years may substitute for degree
• Experience in mechanical/electrical design or project engineering roles preferred
• Experience with prototype or low-volume electro-mechanical systems preferred
• Experience in design review of electro-mechanical systems
• Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or other modeling software

Responsibilities

• Work within established quality systems to release electromechanical designs into design control.
• Manage purchasing and vendor activities for COTS and machined parts.
• Collaborate with senior Project Engineers to analyze part designs and identify purchase or cost-saving issues.
• Source electronic and mechanical components based on required performance specifications.
• Keep 1-2 concurrent projects on the critical path through purchasing and design control.
• Follow laboratory safety precautions and company safety policies.
• Specific duties may vary depending upon departmental requirements.
