Job summary

Ferman Automotive Group is seeking an Entry Level Service Technician in Tampa, FL to diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles per manufacturer specs and dealership standards. You will perform oil changes, brake work, and system service while documenting work and ensuring quality before release.

You’ll use diagnostic tools, hand and power tools, and work closely with Service Advisors in a fast-paced shop environment. Prior training or ASE is helpful.

Qualifications

• Strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills.
• Ability to use automotive diagnostic equipment and hand/power tools.
• Good problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and time management skills.
• Ability to follow technical instructions accurately.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required.
• ASE certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose vehicle issues using diagnostic tools, equipment, and technical resources.
• Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, brake repairs, tire services, and fluid replacements.
• Repair and service vehicle systems including engine, transmission, electrical, suspension, and HVAC components.
• Accurately document all work performed on repair orders.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to Service Advisors or Shop Foreman.
• Follow manufacturer repair procedures, service bulletins, and warranty guidelines.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in orderly condition.
• Adhere to dealership safety policies and OSHA regulations.
• Participate in ongoing training and certification programs.
• Ensure all repairs meet quality standards before vehicle release.
• Assist with additional service department tasks as assigned.
