Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an Automotive Technology program preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional automotive repair experience.
• ASE Master Technician Certification preferred.
• Manufacturer-specific advanced certifications highly preferred.
• Previous dealership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, drivability, HVAC, suspension, steering, and brake system concerns.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting using manufacturer diagnostic equipment and technical resources.
• Complete maintenance and repair services efficiently and accurately in accordance with manufacturer standards.
• Document all diagnostic findings, repair procedures, and recommendations on repair orders.
• Assist Service Advisors in explaining repair needs and technical recommendations when necessary.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to apprentice, lube, and service technicians.
• Stay current on manufacturer technical service bulletins, recalls, and repair procedures.
• Perform warranty repairs in compliance with manufacturer requirements.
• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and identify necessary maintenance or repair needs.
• Ensure all repairs meet dealership quality standards before vehicle release.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work area in a clean and organized condition.
• Follow all OSHA, environmental, and dealership safety policies and procedures.
• Participate in ongoing manufacturer training and certification programs.
• Assist Shop Foreman and Service Management with technical problem-solving and quality control initiatives.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
