Job summary

Automobile Club of Southern California is seeking an entry-level Claims Auto Adjuster to support auto claims operations. The role handles material damage, property damage, and liability claims with guidance, performing liability investigations, coverage evaluation, and claims negotiation within defined procedures.

The position requires a basic licensing path, strong software skills, and excellent communication to interact with insureds and claimants while meeting regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• No prior claims experience required.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and general computer software.
• Organization and planning recognition skills required.
• Oral and written communication skills required.
• Interpersonal skills required.
• Property and Casualty Insurance License, valid in selling state - may be required to obtain an Adjuster license within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Communicate and interact with insureds and claimants, explaining benefits and claims process.
• Conduct investigations to determine liability and damages and differentiate allegations from facts.
• Evaluate and negotiate within settlement authority to resolve first and third-party claims in multiple markets.
• Demonstrate proficiency with estimate review and analysis of claims and claims technology.
• Coordinate with internal and external departments as required.
• Respond to customer needs and inquiries; overtime/holiday hours may be required.
