Knoxville Orthopaedic Clinic (KOC) seeks a skilled Athletic Trainer to join our team, providing hands-on sports medicine support to athletes at schools, teams, events, and community programs.

You will prevent injuries, evaluate and treat, rehabilitate, and manage emergencies while collaborating with physicians, coaches, athletes, families, and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or a related field from an accredited program.
• Current certification through the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC).
• Current Tennessee Athletic Trainer license, or eligible to obtain licensure before beginning independent practice.
• Current CPR/AED certification appropriate for the position.
• Strong clinical knowledge and practical skills in sports medicine, including injury prevention, evaluation, emergency care, treatment, and rehabilitation.

Responsabilités

• Provide on-site athletic training coverage for practices, games, events, and community activities.
• Evaluate and manage acute and chronic sports-related injuries within the AT scope of practice.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment, rehabilitation, and return-to-activity plans with physicians and care team.
• Provide first aid and emergency care and activate emergency action plans when necessary.
• Coordinate referrals to physicians, specialists, or emergency services when needed.
• Perform taping, bracing, wrapping, and use of protective equipment to promote injury prevention and safe participation.
• Communicate injury status, restrictions, treatment plans, and follow-up needs with athletes, parents/guardians, coaches, providers, and team members.
• Maintain complete and timely documentation of injury evaluations, treatments, rehabilitation, referrals, and other information.
• Educate athletes, coaches, parents/guardians, and community on injury prevention, conditioning, hydration, recovery, wellness, and safe return to activity.
• Maintain AT rooms, equipment, and supplies in a clean, organized condition.

Formation

Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or related field

Master's degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, or related field
