Job summary

Burlington Telecom in Burlington, VT is seeking an Accounting Associate to provide accounting and clerical support to ensure accurate payment and collection of accounts. This entry‑level role offers growth opportunities in a friendly atmosphere with a solid benefits package.

The position is full-time, on-site in Burlington, with a starting pay range of $24.00–$28.85 per hour. Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of accounting experience and/or an associate degree in accounting or related field.

Qualifications

Basic knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office.
Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate across the organization and with customers.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Demonstrate good judgement and confidentiality.
Ability to work to meet deadlines.
1–3 years accounting or related field preferred.
Associate degree in accounting or related field preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Manage collections activity including reporting, deadline adherence, disconnection letters, and client communication.
Review AR aging and monitor non-payments and irregularities.
Reconcile daily cash receipts and maintain logs.
Submit invoices to shared services accounts payable.
Coordinate new vendor setup with shared services accounts payable.
Primary contact for vendor inquiries.
Distribute monthly credit card statements and process receipts.
Order office supplies.
Other duties as assigned.
