Job summary

Safeway in Sacramento, CA is seeking a Front-End Team Member to create a smooth checkout experience for customers. You will scan items, bag groceries, answer questions, and help ensure every visit ends positively.

You'll rotate between tasks, stay busy in a fast-paced environment, and uphold store policies while delivering friendly service. Prior customer service is helpful; training is provided on hire.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred but not required.
• Basic math and communication skills are required.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Completion of cashier/front-end training upon hire.
• Must be 16+ (or 18+ depending on local/state requirements).

Responsibilities

• Handle transactions and payments accurately.
• Bag groceries and assist customers at the front end.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area.
• Respond to customer questions and resolve basic issues.
