Job summary

Safeway, part of Albertsons Companies Inc., in California is seeking a Front-End Team Member to ensure a smooth checkout experience for customers. You’ll scan items, bag groceries, and help customers complete purchases accurately and warmly.

You’ll rotate between transactions, restocking, cart retrieval, and maintaining the checkout area. This fast-paced environment rewards organization, adaptability, and friendly service throughout your shift.

Qualifications

• Must be 16+ (or 18+ depending on locale)
• Completion of cashier/front-end training upon hire
• Basic math and communication skills required
• Flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Prior customer service experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Process purchases accurately, including cash, card, and digital payments
• Assist customers at checkout and maintain friendly interactions
• Keep front-end organized and running consistently
• Restock, collect carts, and maintain checkout area
