Job summary

Safeway is seeking a Front-End Team Member to help ensure a smooth checkout experience for customers. You will assist at the front end, handle transactions, bag groceries, and provide friendly, efficient service to finish each visit on a positive note.

You’ll rotate between tasks, restock supplies, collect carts, and maintain a clean checkout area. Prior customer service helps, but full training is provided for a successful start.

Qualifications

• Must be 16+ (or 18+ per local/state rules)
• Completion of company cashier or front-end training upon hire
• Basic math and communication skills required
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
• Prior customer service experience is a plus but not required

Responsibilities

• Keep the front end organized, clean and running smoothly throughout the day
• Rotate between tasks such as handling transactions, collecting carts, restocking supplies, and maintaining checkout area
