Job summary

EmergencyMD in Oregon seeks career firefighters for entry-level and experienced roles across Jackson County Fire Districts 3, 4, and 5. Candidates must meet minimum requirements and will progress through a competitive hiring process, including PAT, interviews, and skills assessments.

Qualifications

• NFPA FF I or equivalent by time of hire.
• Valid driver's license at time of application.
• Certified OR or National Registry EMT in good standing.

Fire District 3: Central Point, White City, Eagle Point, Gold Hill, Agate Lake, Dodge Bridge and Sams Valley

Fire District 4: Shady Cove, Trail and the Upper Rogue Communities

Fire District 5: Phoenix, Talent and unincorporated areas of Ashland

ASSESSMENT TIMELINE

• Physical Agility Test (PAT) Practice Day Monday 10/19 - 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
• PAT: 10/20, 10/21
  • The PAT (practice and test day) will take place at Fire District 3 Training Grounds.
• Panel Interviews: 10/20-22
• Practical Skills Scenario: 10/20-22
• Chiefs Interview: TBD

Applications will be evaluated to confirm the following minimum requirements and qualifications:

• Minimum 18 years old and GED or HS diploma
• NFPA FF 1 or equivalent by time of hire
• Valid Drivers License
• Certified as OR or Nat'l Reg. EMT in good standing at time of application

Applications will be scored to evaluate skills, certifications and experience.

Each District will assess qualified candidates and consider tenure, professional experience, and training and skills backgrounds in the selection and job offer process.

• Complete the Jackson County Fire District 3 FireTEAM NTN test with a score of 70% or better (please note information reflected on NTN describes District 3)
• Complete the District online application – resumes are not required.

• Upload a current Oregon or National Registry EMT license at the time of application – certificates will not satisfy this requirement.
• Upload a current NFPA FF I at time of application or be prepared to submit it before February 2027.
