About The Role
The Lead Entertainment Technician Stage Carpenter is responsible for supervising and creating the daily work schedules of their respective team of entertainment technicians. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing detailed, specific rigging activities and is one of the primary contacts for staging and rigging.
Position Responsibilities
- Establish hang-points, motor attachments to permanent rigging points, GAC Flex spanset attachments to the truss, run and dress motor cables, focus speakers, focus of lighting fixtures and other tie-offs, run cable picks and ensure safety of scenic pieces to hang points throughout the property.
- Check that all truss bolts are tight and all pieces of flown equipment have safeties.
- Planning, building and dressing of stationary and rolling stage risers.
- Installation of pipe and drape as needed throughout the property.
- Work with vendors and clients in verifying loads applicable to their production.
- Produce detailed rigging plot and identify/resolve any possible rigging obstacles.
- Visually inspect all hardware in use including motors and personnel lifts on an ongoing basis.
Essential Functions
- Exposure to casino related environmental factors including but not limited to secondhand smoke, excessive noise and hectic environments.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
- Must be able to stand, sit, bend and twist for an entire shift and be able to move throughout the casino/hotel areas.
- Must be able to lift and/or carry equipment, scenery or supplies weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Climb a ladder or stairs.
- Work at heights up to 90' above the ground.
- Maneuver scenery and supplies weighing up to 1500 pounds using pallet jacks, rolling carts or forklifts.
- Drive a scissor lift.
- Sit, stand, or walk for an entire shift, depending upon needs.
- Operate electric motors, hydraulic motors, and chain hoist motors.
- Must be able to work holidays, weekends and flexible shift hours.
Requirements
- Ability to effectively communicate in English (Read, Write, Speak & Understand).
- Ability to operate a PC and Office software.
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
- 3-4 years Rigging experience in an audiovisual environment.
