Job summary

General Dynamics - IT is seeking a VDI Engineer to design, implement, and support a secure, scalable enterprise Virtual Desktop Infrastructure. You will serve as a Citrix SME and lead troubleshooting to ensure high availability across global users.

The role requires collaboration with engineering, cybersecurity, and operations teams to optimize reliability and user experience. The ideal candidate will design and maintain VDI environments, perform performance tuning, and contribute to automation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Extensive experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (7.x+).
• Strong proficiency with Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS) and Machine Creation Services (MCS).
• Experience with user profile management & containerization (Liquidware ProfileUnity, FSLogix).
• Experience with Citrix ADC (NetScaler) and load balancing.
• Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, or similar virtualization.
• Strong Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and enterprise networking knowledge.
• PowerShell scripting and automation for Citrix administration.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and maintain VDI solutions to enterprise needs.
• Provide Tier 3 support and troubleshoot complex VDI issues.
• Advise on desktop optimization and interoperability.
• Deliver advanced endpoint support for virtual desktops and incidents.
• Maintain expert knowledge of VDI administration and emerging tech.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design enterprise solutions.
• Conduct evaluations and provide architecture recommendations.
