Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is hiring a VDI Engineer to design, implement, and maintain enterprise VDI environments across global users. You will serve as SME for Citrix and related virtualization technologies, guiding troubleshooting efforts and ensuring high availability.

The role requires strong analytical and communication skills, a proactive approach to operational excellence, and a passion for secure, scalable desktop solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and implementing enterprise VDI solutions for large environments.
• Strong knowledge of Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (7.x+) and related components.
• Proficient in user profile management and virtualization technologies.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, implement, and maintain VDI solutions for enterprise needs.
• Provide Tier 3 support to resolve complex VDI-related incidents.
• Advise on desktop optimization for interoperability and performance.
• Deliver advanced endpoint support and service requests resolution.
• Maintain expert knowledge of VDI administration and emerging technologies.
• Collaborate across engineering, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and ops teams.
• Contribute to automation, optimization, and identity lifecycle initiatives.
• Conduct evaluations and make recommendations on architecture and tools.
