Job summary

Gonzales ISD is seeking a Systems Administrator to evaluate, implement, and maintain the GISD enterprise. You will manage domain and system administration, email, and network security, while monitoring servers and ensuring data protection.

Under the Technology Director, you will follow established procedures, maintain confidentiality, and support diverse district staff. Excellent communication in English is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science or MIS.
• CompTIA A+ certification is preferred but not required.
• Experience with enterprise level daily system administration in test and production.
• Advanced experience with Active Directory in an enterprise environment.
• Experience with scripting languages used in admin tasks.

Responsibilities

• Serves as overall administrator of the District's core information systems and services.
• Plans, tests, implements, secures, and provides troubleshooting support.
• Develops tools and documentation to support current strategic goals.
• Installs, manages, monitors, and integrates server and client OSes.
• Administers a variety of database systems.
• Provides systems monitoring and performance tuning for availability.
• Designs and provides tier-three support for enterprise desktops and clients.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or MIS (or equivalent experience)

CompTIA A+ certification preferred
