Job summary

Airwallex is seeking a Solutions Architect to lead the technical pre-sales for complex enterprise engagements across the US. You will translate business requirements into scalable architectures, orchestrate cross-functional teams, and ensure smooth go-live and optimization across payments platforms.

The role is based in SF or NYC with 3 days in office, covering implementation across the US. Strong API integration experience and client-facing delivery are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g. Business, Engineering, Information Systems) or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of experience in technical pre-sales, managing complex, multi-stakeholder technology or financial services implementations.
• 10+ years of client-facing delivery or professional services experience in a high-paced environment (e.g. SaaS, fintech, consulting, systems integration, enterprise implementation).
• Proven track record of delivering cross-functional projects with stakeholders including C-level executives, technical teams, and operations.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills, including leading steering meetings and influencing decisions.

Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers and internal teams on high-value implementations and expansions, shaping integration approaches and overall solution design.
• Partner with implementation and account management teams to translate customer requirements into scalable architectures.
• Work with sales teams on technical discovery to understand customer systems, data flows, and workflows, and recommend a best-fit integration blueprint.
• Work hands-on with customers to troubleshoot integration hurdles and guide them through complex configuration decisions, focusing on robust, maintainable implementations rather than writing code.
• Create and maintain internal documentation, playbooks, and lightweight tooling for the wider team to support integration-heavy use cases at scale.
• Channel customer pain points and integration feedback into Product and Engineering, influencing the roadmap and prioritisation of features.
