Job summary

IBM is seeking a Systems Services Representative (SSR) in the Knoxville area to provide on-site installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair for IBM and multi-vendor server environments, serving as a trusted technical advisor to customers.

You’ll travel throughout the territory to resolve hardware and software issues, optimize system performance, and ensure critical IT infrastructure operates reliably while delivering exceptional service and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Experience in on-site hardware installation, maintenance, upgrades, and repair in enterprise environments.
• Ability to follow technical procedures and repair equipment with appropriate tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills and customer-facing experience.
• Basic computer hardware knowledge (drives, memory, networking).
• Comfort with hand tools and diagnostic equipment for field service.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical contact for customers, coordinating hardware and software support.
• Deliver on-site service including installation, maintenance, upgrades and repair of enterprise systems.
• Advise on preventive maintenance and best practices to maximize performance and reliability.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware/software issues, managing critical situations to resolution.
• Travel throughout the assigned territory to provide responsive, customer-focused support.
