Job summary

SanMar Corp. is seeking an Enterprise Safety & Security Director to develop and lead the company-wide program protecting people, facilities, assets, and operations.

Reporting to Legal, this leader sets standards, strengthens preparedness, advises on risk, and partners across the organization to enable growth. The role drives enterprise risk management, incident response, governance, training, and executive reporting.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of related education and/or professional experience in security, safety, risk, asset protection, or related operations.
• CPP, PSP, CSP, CHST, OHST or comparable certification preferred.
• Ability to build influence and alignment across the enterprise without direct authority, driving consistency, accountability, and adoption of safety and security standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead enterprise safety and security strategy, standards, governance, and long-term plans.
• Maintain an enterprise risk management approach for physical security, workplace safety, business continuity, crisis preparedness, and operational resilience.
• Partner with leaders across departments and with external vendors to identify risks and drive consistent practices.
• Lead risk assessments for facilities, operations, expansion projects, and site selection with clear recommendations.
• Establish enterprise standards for access control, investigations, emergency response, and security systems.
• Lead business continuity and crisis management programs including incident response planning and exercises.
• Provide executive-level reporting on enterprise risks, trends, incidents, and program effectiveness.
• Develop training and awareness programs to strengthen safety culture across the organization.
• Participate in Safety Committee and ensure compliance with safety regulations from agencies like DOSH, OSHA, EPA, DOT.
• Accompany inspectors during onsite visits and manage follow-up responses for government agencies.
