Job summary

WRITER is seeking a commercial counsel who thrives on deal-making and turns legal complexity into business clarity. You’ll partner with sales and procurement, drafting and negotiating SaaS agreements for large enterprise customers and strategic partners.

In a fast-paced, low-ego team, you’ll help optimize contracting processes, train go-to-market teammates, and shape playbooks while ensuring compliance and risk management across regulated industries. This role is based in San Francisco.

Qualifications

Juris doctor licensed to practice law in the U.S.
3+ years negotiating commercial contracts, preferably SaaS or tech.
Experience contracting with large enterprise and regulated industries; global sales teams is a plus.
Exposure to privacy, IP, and AI-related legal issues; basic understanding is helpful.
Familiar with contract management tools and CLM platforms.

Responsibilities

Review and negotiate inbound/outbound commercial contracts, including SaaS licenses and partnerships.
Develop and manage contract templates and negotiation playbooks to improve sales contracting efficiency.
Create processes that benefit the business and support internal stakeholders as we grow.
Enable and train GTM teams with practical legal guidance.
