Job summary

Maximus seeks an experienced Release Manager to coordinate enterprise-wide releases and PI planning across multiple teams in a government-focused IT environment.

You will align release schedules with stakeholders, ensure governance, and monitor risks, incidents, and recovery readiness, drawing on ITIL and SAFe practices. Candidates should have 8+ years in release management and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust is required.
• Experience as Release Manager or Release Train Engineer in enterprise IT environments.
• Proven experience coordinating large-scale, multi-team release planning and execution.
• Strong knowledge of ITIL-based change and release management processes.
• Experience applying Agile and SAFe frameworks, including PI planning and cross-team coordination.
• Ability to manage release dependencies, risks, and scheduling conflicts.
• Experience supporting enterprise ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow) for release tracking and reporting.
• Ability to produce and maintain release documentation, metrics, and audit artifacts.
• Experience coordinating releases in environments requiring high availability and strict SLA adherence.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent).
• 8+ years of experience in IT service management, release management, or Agile program delivery roles.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the enterprise Release Manager, coordinating, planning, and executing releases across multiple teams and domains.
• Lead release planning, sequencing, and dependency management across service areas.
• Coordinate with the Configuration Change Manager to ensure governance and alignment with lifecycle standards.
• Facilitate Program Increment (PI) planning with Product Owners and cross-functional teams.
• Align release schedules with stakeholders and communicate readiness, outages, and deployment windows.
• Coordinate cross-team dependencies and resolve conflicts to maintain service stability and SLA performance.
• Synchronize release activities with incident management, operations, and disaster recovery stakeholders.
• Track release progress, risks, and metrics using dashboards and Agile/SAFe methods.
