Job summary

Capital One seeks a Manager, Counsel for Enterprise Supplier Management within CAST. The role combines business and transactions counsel expertise to oversee critical procurement contracts across multiple lines of business and provide strategic legal guidance to the ESM team.

The successful candidate will manage complex negotiations, assess risks, and lead a team of attorneys, while aligning with internal policies and external counsel as needed.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Active member in good standing of at least one state bar.
• At least 3 years of attorney experience, including third party procurement/vendor outsourcing.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement transactions across multiple lines of business including technology, card, retail and commercial bank.
• Draft and negotiate terms, identify legal risks, and advise on internal guidelines.
• Build relationships with ESM and legal stakeholders and manage repeatable processes.
• Coordinate outside counsel when needed and oversee delivery of services and costs.
• Create reports on trends/metrics and provide training on key issues.
• Act as backup Legal representative in procurement risk gate meetings.
• Delegate assignments to backup attorney team and manage multiple matters.
