Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Manager, Counsel for Enterprise Supplier Management to lead procurement transactions and provide strategic legal advice to the ESM team. The role blends business counsel with transactional governance across multiple lines of business and functional groups.

The candidate will draft and negotiate terms, identify risks, and ensure compliance with internal policies while managing relationships with stakeholders and outside counsel in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Active member in good standing of at least one state bar.
• 3+ years of experience as an attorney in a law firm, government agency, military JAG, or in-house counsel with procurement/outsourcing experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement transactions supporting multiple lines of business.
• Identify legal issues and risks in procurement/outsourcing contracts and draft terms.
• Understand and advise on internal guidelines and procedures.
• Build and maintain relationships with ESM and legal stakeholders.
• Coordinate outside counsel when needed and manage costs.
