Job summary

Capital One's CAST team in McLean, VA seeks a Manager, Counsel to lead a broad range of corporate transactions, including mergers & acquisitions, strategic investments, procurement, outsourcing, and data/commercial agreements.

The ideal candidate has a JD, active state bar status with Virginia Corporate Counsel eligibility, 3+ years of transactional experience, strong drafting and negotiation skills, and the ability to coordinate with outside counsel and internal partners.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Active member in good standing of at least one state bar with the ability to register as Corporate Counsel in Virginia.
• At least 3 years of experience as an attorney in a law firm environment, government agency, military JAG, or in-house counsel, focusing on transactional matters.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing a wide range of transactions including drafting and negotiating.
• Conduct complex due diligence reviews and coordinate with business lines.
• Counsel and advise business groups on legal issues and processes.
• Coordinate outside counsel and monitor delivery of services and cost.
