Job summary

Zuora Inc. is seeking a Customer Solutions Engineer – Payments to partner with Account Executives and help customers modernize their payment strategies. You will analyze payment architectures, identify opportunities, and show how Zuora can optimize performance while reducing complexity.

The role requires deep payments expertise, experience with PSPs/gateways, and the ability to translate technical concepts into business value for executive audiences across global deployments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, Solution Consulting, or Solutions Architecture supporting enterprise software.
• Deep domain expertise in enterprise payments through PSPs, gateways, processors or related payments tech.
• Strong understanding of payment ecosystems including PSPs, gateways, card networks and digital wallets.
• Experience designing complex payment architectures for high-volume B2C/B2SMB customers.
• Knowledge of payment optimization strategies such as routing, tokenization and resilience.
• Familiarity with REST APIs, webhooks and modern integration patterns.
• Outstanding presentation and customer-facing consulting skills with business-value framing.
• Ability to translate technical concepts into executive-friendly messages.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Zuora’s payments subject matter expert throughout the sales cycle.
• Partner with Account Executives to identify and develop opportunities within existing and prospective enterprise customers.
• Lead discovery sessions on payment architecture, gateway strategy, authorization performance, global expansion, and operational efficiency.
• Design solution architectures that support flexible payment ecosystems across providers, gateways, processors, and methods.
• Deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, workshops, and architecture reviews for executive, business, and technical audiences.
• Advise customers on best practices for payment orchestration, intelligent routing, tokenization, resilience, and global acceptance.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Product Marketing, Partnerships, and Engineering to relay customer requirements.
• Develop reusable solution assets, reference architectures and enablement materials.
• Support strategic RFPs, proofs-of-concepts, and complex enterprise evaluations.
