Job summary

The City of San Diego is seeking a Network Coordinator to support the enterprise network program and ensure secure, resilient services. You will collaborate with City departments, engineering teams, and vendors to coordinate projects and implement network policies aligned with the IT Strategy.

This role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced government environment. The position reports to the Enterprise Network Manager and offers opportunities to shape

Qualifications

• Minimum of four (4) years of experience in network operations and support.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Clear understanding of network infrastructure including firewall, DMZ, WAN/LAN, DNS, DHCP, VPN, monitoring.
• Experience coordinating with vendors and multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
• Experience documenting IT policies and procedures.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate technical projects and support policy improvements.
• Liaise with City departments, IT teams, and vendors to deliver services.
• Ensure network activities align with IT strategic priorities.
• Monitor network performance, security, and fault management.
• Oversee MACD, provisioning, and site installations.
• Translate business needs into technical requirements for networks.
• Document network architecture and procedures.
