Job summary

The City of Norwalk seeks a senior network engineer to design, implement, secure, and maintain enterprise data, voice, and wireless networks across facilities and remote sites. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in network engineering roles.
• Proven experience designing, implementing, and managing complex enterprise networks.
• CCNA preferred; Security+ or CISSP and cloud (AWS/Azure) advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, operate and support high-availability network infrastructure for City operations.
• Lead network projects, upgrades, and integrations as technical lead.
• Design scalable, secure network architectures and optimize configurations.
• Ensure security/compliance, firewall and intrusion prevention management.
• Coordinate with endpoint security teams and perform troubleshooting.
• Conduct capacity planning for future growth.
