Job summary

University of Kansas seeks an IT Network Architect to lead enterprise network architecture, governance, and technology roadmaps. The role requires strategic direction, senior technical leadership, and collaboration with KU IT leadership, engineers, security, vendors, and stakeholders.

You will guide design, standards, and rollout of network infrastructure, mentor engineers, and ensure reliability, security, and scalability across a large university environment.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience designing, implementing, or leading complex network infrastructure.
• Experience in a large enterprise IT environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working with customers, stakeholders, or technology vendors.

Responsibilities

• Leads architecture, design, standards, governance, and implementation of enterprise networking technologies.
• Develops network architecture and engineering standards for reliability, scalability, security, and operability.
• Provides technical leadership for major network initiatives and complex solutions.
• Translates business requirements into effective infrastructure designs.
• Mentors engineers and reviews major changes and implementation plans.
• Develops and reviews network operational procedures and documentation.
