Qualifications

Job description

THIS POSITION IS ELIGIBLE FOR A SIGN-ON BONUS OF UP TO $6,000+ DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE

The Enterprise Mobile Service Technician independently performs in-field advanced diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural equipment, by operating a mobile service vehicle and traveling to customer locations throughout our TNE area of responsibility. The Enterprise Mobile Service Technician is responsible for the effective repair of machinery and components at high levels of quality across all TNE locations.

You’ll focus on:

  • The first line of mobile service support to the True North Equipment customer base
  • Performing advanced diagnostics, repairs, reconditioning, and assembly on agricultural equipment and established technology infield and service department, using the latest diagnostic technologies such as Service Advisor, as assigned by a supervisor
  • Participating in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge
  • Being the face of True North Equipment to deliver a professional experience to the customer base and being known as a trusted technical advisor
  • Being a willing mentor of service technician trainees
  • Available to support employee and customer training events
  • Maintaining current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
  • Maintaining condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment
  • Maintaining a clean work area and performing work in a neat and orderly fashion
  • Following all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
  • Completing work in a safe, professional, and timely manner
  • Providing timely completion of all repair orders, reports, and forms required in conjunction with work assignments
  • Being accountable for all time and all material used in performing assigned duties
  • Documenting machine information and repairs completed on work orders, including parts and fluids used
  • Proactively seeking and participating in available company-sponsored training, in an effort to develop and advance knowledge base and skill set
  • Participating in all company/location driver communication efforts, including open book meetings, huddles, department meetings, and other related efforts

What we are looking for:

  • Ability to perform advanced repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following technical manual procedures on machines of the technician’s specialty
  • 5+ years of experience performing diesel service repairs
  • Excellent mechanical skills
  • Ability to assemble and perform maintenance functions on equipment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural and turf equipment
  • Excellent skills in operating vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
  • Ability to use Service Advisor and basic computer functions
  • Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly
  • Advanced diesel service technician education preferred – Level 3
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience required; associates degree is preferred
  • Strong work ethic to complete a task efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Communication skills to clearly articulate aspects of work being performed to a customer in a courteous and effective manner
  • Ability to identify and communicate solutions for customer service opportunities in areas of responsibility
  • Accountability for billable time and assigned work orders
  • Responsibility for complete and thorough documentation of diagnostics and repairs performed on work orders and on-time submittal of information
  • Valid driver’s license and clean MVR
  • Valid work authorization to work in the U.S without company sponsorship
  • Ability to perform all other duties as assigned by management in a safe, professional, and efficient manner
  • Understanding and adherence to TNE customer data policies and procedures
  • Positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources
  • Ensuring that the company’s reputation and image in the community is consistent with TNE values
  • Adequate toolset to perform job responsibilities
  • This role is classified as a safety-sensitive position. The employee must undergo required drug testing
  • Ability to perform quality work as efficiently and profitably as possible and work overtime and weekends on occasion
  • Normal hours worked are Mon-Fri 8am-5pm in our off-season. Seasonal hours worked are Mon-Fri 730am-530pm and every other Saturday 730am-12pm, with extended hours and on-call hours seasonally
  • Conducting oneself in the presence of customers and the community to present a professional image of True North Equipment
  • Maintaining a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service
  • Performing all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner
