Azul Systems, a leader in JVM optimization and enterprise-class Java platforms, is seeking a hands‑on Sales Engineer to drive technical wins in the New York area. You will run evaluations in customer environments, tune the JVM, and translate performance improvements into clear business value for executives and engineers alike.

In this role you’ll design pilots, lead proof‑of‑concepts, and collaborate with product, engineering, and sales teams to remove blockers and win multi‑stakeholder deals.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a Sales Engineering / pre-sales role supporting enterprise software.
• 3+ years of hands-on Java development or testing.
• Proven track record of hands-on pilots and POCs with measurable results.
• Experience selling into large enterprises with multi-stakeholder environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field; master’s is a plus.
• Working knowledge of cloud and container technologies (AWS, Docker/Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with MEDDICC and Salesforce CRM.
• Willing to travel up to 30% and fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical win across opportunities through discovery, mapping Azul capabilities, and validating solutions.
• Lead hands-on pilots inside the customer environment, installing and configuring the JVM and running workloads.
• Plan and run performance-focused engagements, measure latency and throughput, and tune JVM settings.
• Navigate multi-stakeholder enterprise engagements coordinating validation across teams.
• Present demos to executives and engineers, translating technical results into business value.
• Respond to RFI/RFPs by aligning Azul capabilities with requirements.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and CTO office to remove blockers.
• Support territory strategy with pipeline generation and partner enablement.
• Grow and retain customers through successful engagements and upsell opportunities.
• Mentor other SEs and contribute to team onboarding.
