Job summary

PayJunction is seeking a Software Architect to design and build enterprise features and payment integrations that power billions in payments annually. You will translate open-ended problems into production solutions while continuing to write Java.

Embrace AI-assisted development and own the delivery of high-risk paths with a strong test strategy. You will stay hands-on with production Java, review pull requests promptly, and shape the architecture for reliability, monitoring, and PCI scope while

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software engineering with ownership of production systems.
• 5+ years of Java development, including web frameworks and JVM.
• Experience with AWS, Linux, relational databases (MySQL preferred), and CI/CD.
• Designed and operated high-availability transactional systems with business impact.
• Familiarity with AI coding assistants in production environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and build enterprise features and payment integrations from concept to production.
• Write production Java code each sprint and maintain a robust test strategy for high-risk paths.
• Define SLOs, monitoring, and PCI scope considerations to ensure reliability and security.
