Job summary

Blue Yonder Defense Solutions (BYDS) seeks a Distributed Systems / Integration Architect to lead design of an enterprise-scale platform. You will define patterns for distributed computing, event-driven systems, and integration across a complex ecosystem of internal and external systems.

The role requires deep expertise in messaging frameworks, integration patterns, and cloud-native architectures, translating business needs into scalable system designs. Hybrid Dallas, US citizen preferred.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience focusing on distributed systems.
• Proven experience designing large-scale, distributed, event-driven systems.
• Strong knowledge of Java-based microservices and API gateways.
• Experience with messaging platforms such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Deep understanding of Enterprise Integration Patterns and Data Flows.
• Experience with cloud-native platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Solid understanding of distributed data architectures.

Responsibilities

• Architecture Leadership — define and evolve the reference architecture for distributed, event-driven, and integration-centric systems.
• Design systems that handle high throughput, fault tolerance, and large-scale data processing.
• Architect solutions for enterprise integration and messaging using EIP patterns and messaging platforms.
• Define API standards and governance, service-to-service communication models, and API gateways.
• Design cloud-native platforms with multi-region, HA, DR and IaC tooling.
• Define data architecture strategies including Event Sourcing and CQRS.
