Job summary

ASM Research is seeking a Capacity Manager to establish ITIL-aligned capacity management and ensure sufficient resources for mission-critical systems in a highly regulated federal IT environment.

You will monitor and forecast capacity across compute, storage, network, and application tiers, collaborating with architecture, operations, and service owners to align plans with SLAs and change schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years in IT infrastructure or service management with focus on performance analysis and capacity planning.
• Demonstrated knowledge of capacity management and strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with architecture, operations, and business functions.
• Current secret security clearance or higher.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain an ITIL-based capacity management framework linking demand, performance, and resources.
• Collect and analyze metrics from servers, storage, networks, and databases to detect bottlenecks.
• Build forecasts and what-if models to propose scaling and optimization strategies.
• Produce regular capacity reports and dashboards for leadership and service owners.
• Collaborate with architecture, engineering, and operations to incorporate capacity into designs and plans.
• Lead capacity optimization initiatives such as rightsizing, consolidation, and cloud elasticity.
• Integrate capacity with incident, problem, and change processes for long-term remediation.
