Job summary

Office of the Illinois Secretary of State is seeking an Information Systems Advisor I – Enterprise Applications to perform advanced systems analysis, design, coding, and testing across departments in Springfield. You will interface with user staff and vendors to deliver complex IT solutions and ensure compliance with standards.

Requires two years of college in computer science and four years of related technical experience, strong communication and documentation skills, and willingness to travel

Qualifications

• Requires completion of two years of college with coursework in computer science and four years of experience in technical systems and/or programming or IT project management.

Responsibilities

• Perform senior level systems analysis and programming using COBOL; design and develop complex data processing systems.
• Collaborate with user departments and external agencies to define scope and requirements for initiatives.
• Document system requirements, costs, and impacts to inform approvals and decisions.
• Assist supervisor with work assignment, performance evaluations, and time-off approvals.
• Design/develop/training programs for users and monitor progress on initiatives.
