Job summary

The University of Toledo is seeking an Enterprise Application Analyst for a temporary assignment to support Epic healthcare applications across ambulatory, inpatient, ancillary, or revenue cycle domains. The role involves development, implementation, maintenance, and problem solving with IT leadership and cross‑department collaboration.

Ideal candidates have 5–7 years in healthcare, strong Epic experience, and current Epic certifications within a year of hire.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in public or business administration, MIS, computer science or healthcare.
  • 5–7 years of paid experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Experience and success in Epic Clinical Systems implementation, development and support.
  • Experience in design, building, testing and implementation of Epic applications.
  • Knowledge of clinical processes, workflows and Epic product.

Responsibilities

  • Act as an expert on enterprise healthcare applications, leading major healthcare applications projects.
  • Develop, implement, maintain, support and evaluate healthcare applications supported by IT.
  • Lead design, implementation and problem solving for Epic and other vendor applications.
  • Provide healthcare customer service leadership within the department.

Job Description

This role acts as an expert on enterprise healthcare applications.The analyst will work on Epic ambulatory, ancillary, inpatient, orrevenue cycle healthcare applications systems to develop,implement, maintain, support, and evaluate healthcare applicationssupported by the Information Technology department. This positionwill lead major healthcare applications project development, designand implementation, maintenance and problem solving of healthcareapplications issues. The Enterprise Applications Analyst Healthcarealso has leading responsibilities in healthcare customer service.The position reports to the Manager, HealthCare Applications andmay represent the department with other hospital departments andvendors.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with abachelor's degree in public or business administration, managementinformation systems, computer science or healthcare.
  • Five to seven (5-7) years of progressively responsible paidexperience in a healthcare environment.
  • Some Experience and proven success in Epic Clinical Systemsimplementation, development, and support within a healthcareorganization is required.
  • Experience in design, building, testing, and implementation ofEpic's and other healthcare vendors’ ambulatory, ancillary,impatient or revenue cycle applications.
  • Knowledge of clinical processes, documentation needs, workflows,and clinical practice standards, with in-depth, expert knowledge ofthe Epic product
  • Current Epic certification in one or multiple of Epic'sapplications is required within one (1) year of hire.
  • Experience in a hospital or outpatient healthcare setting, with theability to do clinical processes and procedures required. Theability to effectively understand and communicate with all levelsof clinical providers and support services required.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods of healthcare organizations andmanagement; healthcare applications and capabilities; patientprocessing and clinical systems; hospital/healthcare financialservices processes and procedures; hospital or clinic-based patientprocessing and medical records processes and procedures, principlesof project management desired.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Required certification is EpicCare Ambulatory. Please submit a copyof your certification with your application.
