Purpose
The Office of Information Technology at the Dell Medical School seeks an Epic Analyst focusing on Ambulatory and Kaleidoscope applications. This role serves as the subject‑matter expert and primary technical contact for these application areas, leading projects, change management, and high‑priority break/fix escalation. The Analyst demonstrates full use of standard technical principles, provides solutions to complex problems, and drives continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, configure, test, and maintain clinical information systems for patient registration, scheduling, billing, and throughput.
- Serve as a liaison among business operations, providers, internal IT, system users, and vendors to resolve issues and problems.
- Support end users remotely and in‑person by monitoring, investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving tickets; coordinate system fixes and changes with software vendors.
- Create test scripts, timelines, and plans for application and workflow changes; conduct testing of system configurations and processes; coordinate and participate in user testing of changes.
- Collaborate with technical colleagues to identify and resolve infrastructure‑related issues impacting clinical applications.
- Provide ongoing support for application upgrades, releases, enhanced functionality, and change/problem management following ITIL processes.

- Provide backup support during peak periods or staffing shortages.
- Participate in special projects and initiatives.

Required Qualifications
- Epic Ambulatory Certification.
- Strong understanding of IT principles, software development, and system analysis (typically evidenced by a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field).
- Practical experience in healthcare IT environments and familiarity with Epic systems, generally demonstrated by at least 3 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
- Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Extensive experience with Epic Ambulatory applications, typically at least 5 years of relevant experience.
