Job summary

UL Research Institutes and UL Standards & Engagement in Evanston, IL seeks a Sr. Manager, AI Portfolio to lead enterprise AI governance, portfolio strategy, and adoption across ULRI and ULSE.

You’ll align AI initiatives with governance, risk, and value objectives while guiding cross‑functional teams and external partners. You will shape operating frameworks, oversee the AI portfolio roadmap, and drive responsible AI practices with Legal, Security, Risk, Compliance, Finance, and HR partners.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of artificial intelligence technologies and governance.
• Experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives from strategy through execution.
• Ability to establish governance frameworks, performance metrics, and business processes.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking with ability to translate concepts into recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Establish and lead enterprise AI governance, portfolio management, and operating frameworks.
• Oversee AI intake, evaluation, and lifecycle management aligned to strategy and risk.
• Identify and advance AI opportunities delivering measurable operational value.
• Direct delivery and adoption of AI solutions from concept to scale.
• Define decision frameworks for build/buy/partner/hybrid delivery.
• Monitor KPIs and success metrics for portfolio health and value realization.
• Collaborate with Legal, Security, Risk, Compliance, Finance, HR on Responsible AI.
• Manage relationships with external vendors and strategic partners.
• Champion AI enablement through education, communities, and adoption programs.
