Job summary

SCAN, a nonprofit health organization, is seeking an AI Engineering Manager in the United States. You will lead hands-on architecture, delivery, and team development for enterprise AI solutions that improve operations and member services.

You will set technical direction, elevate engineering practices, and collaborate with business, data, security, and technology functions to ensure secure, scalable, and governable AI products aligned to enterprise priorities.

Qualifications

• Advanced ability to define, evaluate, and govern AI solution architectures including LLM-based systems.
• Ability to lead engineering teams through disciplined delivery practices.
• Proficiency with Azure AI Services, Azure AI Foundry,Databricks, Snowflake, and Microsoft 365 integrations.
• Strong fluency in Python, REST APIs, ML/LLMOps tooling, and modern frameworks.
• Ability to coach engineers, build technical judgment, delegate, and grow ownership.

Responsibilities

• Lead hands-on prototyping and contribute to core products.
• Develop prototypes and showcase AI capabilities on cloud platforms.
• Define enterprise AI platform architectures and standards.
• Guide architectural tradeoffs across speed, cost, risk, and operability.
• Establish disciplined engineering practices and SAFe delivery.
• Coach engineers and grow team technical judgment and ownership.
• Partner with security, governance, and compliance teams.
• Translate enterprise priorities into AI product roadmaps.
• Ensure responsible AI, security, privacy, and oversight.
