Job summary

Modal Labs is seeking a high-impact Solutions Architect to drive technical strategy across our enterprise accounts in New York. You will serve as the executive technical counterpart to Enterprise Account Executives, guiding complex evaluations and modernization roadmaps for AI workloads.

You will work directly with CTOs and ML platform leaders to rethink infrastructure, lead multi-product adoption, and influence 7–8 figure decisions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, or enterprise-facing technical roles in infrastructure, cloud, or developer platforms.
• Proven track record delivering complex enterprise sales cycles and multi-product evaluations.
• Experience with large, global enterprises and Bay Area tech companies is a plus.
• Strong understanding of cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure) and modern data platforms.
• Experience leading cloud migrations and infrastructure modernization initiatives.
• Production programming in Python is preferred and familiarity with IaC tooling.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical strategy for large, complex enterprise accounts.
• Partner with Enterprise Account Executives to drive multi-million-dollar opportunities from qualification through close.
• Lead deep technical discovery across platform, ML, DevOps, and infrastructure stakeholders.
• Architect end-to-end migration strategies to Modal’s serverless infrastructure from AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Drive executive-level technical conversations linking infrastructure to business impact (velocity, cost, reliability).
• Design and oversee proofs-of-concept demonstrating production-grade scalability.
• Navigate security reviews, compliance, and procurement processes.
• Build durable relationships with technical champions and executive sponsors.
• Orchestrate cross-functional virtual account teams to ensure adoption.
• Influence Modal’s product roadmap with enterprise feedback and best practices.
• Mentor other Solutions Architects and share technical guidance.
