Job summary

Scale AI, Inc. is seeking a Forward Deployed AI Engineering Manager for the Enterprise team to bridge Scale's AI capabilities with strategic customers.

You will lead a team that designs, deploys, and optimizes AI solutions in production environments, working directly with customer engineering teams to integrate AI into critical workflows. You will oversee customer-facing projects, drive multi-agent architectures, and partner with Scale product and engineering teams to translate customer needs

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering with 3+ years in management, strong fundamentals in data structures and system design.
• Production Python proficiency with modern ML/AI frameworks.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and modern data infra.
• Strong problem-solving and rapid iteration in ambiguous environments.
• Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Partner with enterprise customers to understand their technical infrastructure, data pipelines, and business needs.
• Design and implement custom integrations between Scale's platform and customer environments.
• Develop AI agents and orchestrate multi-agent systems across models, tools, and data sources.
• Lead prompt engineering and optimization, including RAG systems and fine-tuning pipelines.
• Serve as engineering lead for strategic accounts and translate customer needs into product improvements.
