Job summary

Avalara, Inc. seeks an AI Automation Engineer to lead enterprise AI automation using n8n as the core orchestration platform. You will architect scalable, secure automation solutions that cut manual work while boosting process quality and efficiency across functions.

You will establish governance, improve observability, and drive AI-powered transformation, mentoring teams to raise automation maturity and adoption while ensuring reliable, high-availability workflows.

Qualifications

B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (required).
10+ years of experience in enterprise automation, workflow engineering, integration engineering, or platform architecture.
Hands-on experience with n8n or Boomi for AI-enabled workflows and automation.

Responsibilities

Own the enterprise-wide AI automation and transformation strategy with n8n as core platform.
Architect scalable, secure automation solutions to reduce manual effort and improve quality.
Define environment strategy, CI/CD pipelines, and governance models to reduce deployment risk.
Enable AI-powered workflow capabilities within n8n (agent orchestration, model integrations, human-in-the-loop controls).
Implement workflow standards, logging, monitoring, and reliability guardrails to improve MTTR and uptime.
