Job summary

Associates of Otolaryngology (AOO) | ENT Specialists of the Rockies is seeking an experienced Telephone Triage Nurse or Medical Assistant to join our team in Colorado. This full-time, in-person position focuses on telephone triage, clinical guidance, and coordination of care with our providers.

The role requires a Colorado LPN license or Medical Assistant Certification, plus strong assessment and communication skills to support adult and pediatric ENT patients with compassionate, detail-oriented

Qualifications

• Current Colorado LPN license or Medical Assistant Certification.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to document clearly and accurately.

Responsibilities

• Provide telephone triage for adult and pediatric ENT patients.
• Assess patient symptoms and determine the appropriate level and timing of care.
• Identify urgent and emergent symptoms requiring immediate attention or escalation.
• Provide patients with home-care instructions and education within clinical protocols.
• Determine when patients need to be scheduled with a physician, APP, urgent care, or emergency department.
• Communicate patient concerns and clinical information clearly to providers.
• Respond to patient messages and telephone encounters promptly.
• Follow established clinical protocols and office policies.
• Document all patient interactions, assessments, and follow-up in the EMR.
• Obtain prior authorizations for medications and diagnostic imaging.
• Provide excellent customer service with professionalism and compassion.
• Recognize situations requiring provider consultation and escalate concerns.
