Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking a Service Line Leader for Otolaryngology to provide strategic, operational, and financial leadership across the ENT service line. You will work with physician and executive leadership to develop and execute plans that enhance growth, patient access, quality, and patient experience across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• BSN required; current California RN license required.
• BLS certification at hire; commitment to obtain BART within six months.
• Minimum seven (7) years of healthcare experience, with at least five years in ambulatory nursing.
• Minimum two (2) years in a leadership role (charge nurse/supervisor/manager).
• Experience leading clinical operations, staff development, and performance management in ambulatory care.
• Knowledge of accreditation standards, quality improvement, patient safety principles, and healthcare regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic plans to grow Otolaryngology services.
• Oversee practice managers and operational leaders; standardize workflows across locations.
• Monitor budgets, revenue, expenses, and performance metrics to improve efficiency and margin.
• Partner with physician leadership to recruit, onboard, and grow faculty practice operations.
• Lead access initiatives and regional growth through referral optimization and partnerships.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Mentor managers and drive a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
