MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center is seeking an Assistant Director of Ambulatory Nursing (ENT) to lead site-based nursing teams, oversee clinical operations, and ensure safe, evidence-based care across ambulatory services.

Reporting to the Director of Nursing, the role emphasizes staff development, performance management, budgeting, and patient safety, with collaboration across disciplines to meet regulatory standards and MedStar’s mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Master's degree in Nursing or health-related field preferred.
• 3–4 years of progressive nursing care experience required.
• 1–2 years of leadership and management experience preferred.
• RN license in Maryland or DC as applicable; CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Develops site/office goals and policies in collaboration with Nursing leadership.
• Builds partnerships across disciplines to ensure efficient patient care.
• Leads performance management and coaching; sets clear expectations.
• Conducts annual performance reviews and provides ongoing feedback.
• Maintains budget, staffing, and resources for safe patient care.
• Leads safety initiatives and quality improvement activities.
• Ensures adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards.
