Job summary

Baltimore City Public Schools is seeking a Specialist III to oversee enrollment, school choice, transfers, residency and placement processes. The role supports districtwide enrollment operations, uses data to guide decisions, and collaborates with families, schools, and partners to ensure timely student placements.

The position requires strong judgment, customer service orientation, and the ability to manage high-volume, time-sensitive work while maintaining accurate records and clear guidance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required; master's preferred.
• 4–5 years of progressively responsible experience in a related field such as K-12 education, enrollment or admissions, student services, school operations, or related areas.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to communicate across diverse backgrounds and levels.
• Excellent organizational, time-management, attention to detail, and follow‑through.
• Experience engaging families and school communities around enrollment or placement matters.
• Experience interpreting and applying policies, regulations, or guidelines to individual cases.

Responsibilities

• Develops and communicates enrollment rules, procedures, guidance, and business rules for enrollment, school choice, transfers, residency and placement.
• Leads districtwide meetings, trainings, and professional learning on enrollment topics.
• Reviews data to inform placement decisions and analyzes enrollment trends.
• Manages non-resident enrollment and tuition matters.
• Prepares reports, memoranda, and guidance documents related to enrollment and student placement.
• Maintains complete case documentation and safeguards confidential information.
