Job summary

Akin is hiring an Early Learning Enrollment Specialist to lead recruitment and enrollment for Head Start and ECEAP programs in the Seattle area. You will inform families and community partners about available services and ensure continuous full enrollment while adhering to program standards.

You will collaborate with staff to verify eligibility, enroll families, and provide referrals. This role requires flexibility for evenings and weekends and travel to service sites and communities in the

Qualifications

• AA, credential or certificate in social work, human services, family services, or a related field
• Minimum of three years' experience working with low-income families
• Access to a reliable, insured vehicle for work-related travel
• Proof of physical exam within past 12 months (updated every three years)
• One-step Mantoux TB skin test prior to start of employment, unless has written proof of a negative test within past 12 months.
• Proof of MMR vaccine or positive MMR titer
• Completion of Akin and DCYF criminal history background check, including registry with MERIT to include fingerprinting.
• A valid driver's license and a favorable driving record, with no more than three violations within the past three years

Responsibilities

• Designs and implements recruitment plans and actively participates in recruitment of children and families
• Attends networking meetings, coalitions, and events to promote Akin Early Learning programs
• Networks with community agencies and service providers who can serve as referral partners
• Supports families in applying for admission to Early Learning programs
• Determines, verifies, and documents eligibility for Head Start/ECEAP programs
• Completes enrollments for Head Start/ECEAP programs, ensuring continuous full enrollment
• Provides resources, referrals and emergency assistance during enrollment
• Maintains confidential records for children and families
• Attends trainings and provides on-the-job support for staff and volunteers
• Participates in team meetings and activities
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
