Job summary

AKIN is seeking an Enrollment Specialist for its Family Resource Center and Early Learning programs in Spokane Valley. You will lead recruitment and enrollment efforts, welcome families, and connect them to Akin services—while ensuring compliance with Head Start/ECEAP standards.

The role requires collaboration with community partners, data entry accuracy, and the ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends. Akin emphasizes client-centered support and resource navigation.

Qualifications

• AA, credential, or certificate in social work, human services, family services or related field
• Minimum of three years' experience working with low-income families
• Access to a reliable, insured vehicle for work-related travel
• Proof of physical exam within the past 12 months (updated every three years)
• TB skin test within past 12 months or documented proof of treatment
• Proof of MMR vaccine or positive MMR titer
• Background check including MERIT fingerprinting
• Valid driver's license with clean record (≤3 violations in 3 years)
• CPR and Pediatric First Aid certification required within 30 days of hire
• HIV/AIDS and Bloodborne Pathogen training within 30 days
• Food Handler's Permit within 30 days
• Preferred bilingual skills (English + other language)
• Lived experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Create a warm, welcoming environment at the Family Resource Center
• Assist participants accessing concrete goods and resources
• Provide information about Akin programs and external resources
• Recruit and enroll families in Early Learning programs
• Determine eligibility for Head Start/ECEAP and complete enrollments
• Maintain confidential records for children and families
• Support staff with data entry and training
• Refer participants to other Akin programs and external resources
• Attend required trainings and team meetings
