Banner Health’s Whole Health Clinic in Tucson seeks an Enrollment and Eligibility Assistant to greet patients, guide them through enrollment steps, and coordinate front and back office tasks related to AHCCCS, Tobacco Tax and Sliding Fee programs.

The role involves screening for eligibility, coordinating with clinics and community resources, maintaining intake records, and assisting with financial screenings to ensure compliant, accessible care for patients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• Familiarity with behavioral health community resources and ability to interact with individuals with a range of mental disorders.

Responsibilities

• Answers, screens/forwards calls, provides information, and schedules appointments.
• Communicates and coordinates with the Crisis Response Center, medical providers, Behavioral Health Inpatient providers, law enforcement, courts, other Behavioral Health agencies, the RBHA, and other county, State, and applicable government agencies.
• Screens individuals requesting services for eligibility. Completes a Priority Population Screening tool for all persons requesting services.
• Maintains appropriate intake documentation requirements in accordance with agency and funding source requirements.
• Interviews clients for potential financial eligibility for multiple counties, State and Federal medical assistance programs to determine residency, household composition, income, assets and medical expenses such as AHCCCS, Food stamps, cash assistance, social security welfare and disability.
• Requests, researches, reviews and verifies personal documents and files to verify eligibility determination for relevant assistance.
• Verifies hospital admissions/discharges daily, transmits/receives relevant records, to ensure continuity of care.
• Completes all training required by licensing, agency, and funding source or as requested by supervisor and participates in individual and team clinical supervision.
• Has freedom to determine how best to accomplish functions within established procedures and best practices.
