Job summary

Suffolk University in Boston is seeking an admissions counselor who will recruit and admit undergraduate students. Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Admission, this role involves travel, thoughtful application review, and strategic recruitment to shape a diverse incoming class.

The counselor will manage a recruitment territory, build relationships with students and community partners, and contribute to enrollment goals through data-informed decisions and student-centered service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Must have at least two years of driving experience with a valid U.S. driver’s license.
• Must be willing to travel for recruitment and work evenings/weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Represent the university at virtual and in-person college fairs and meetings with secondary schools and community colleges.
• Travel approximately 10–12 weeks per year in fall and spring; conduct virtual and on/off-campus interviews with students and families.
• Manage a designated recruitment territory and develop outreach plans to increase awareness, applications, and enrollment.
• Holistically evaluate first-year applications and issue admission decisions and scholarship consideration where appropriate.
• Counsel applicants and families on Suffolk University’s admission policies and procedures.
• Coordinate and implement application generation and yield programs in assigned regions.
• Assist the Welcome Center with virtual and on-campus information sessions and programming for students and families.
• Handle additional project and liaison work as needed.
